I am a North Carolina native with ancestral roots in Western North Carolina’s Haywood, Burke, and Buncombe Counties.  My love to photograph the amazing landscapes and simple beauty of the North Carolina mountains is inspired by my desire for the adventure of living in the outdoors.  As an avid hiker of the western North Carolina mountains, I photograph to preserve my adventures because outside is where my spirit soars and finds true peace.  It's where I go to reconnect with myself, away from the stress, high expectations, and drudgery of a commercially-driven world.  It's where I belong. Through photography, I strive to capture a “sense of place” and render my experience as one which you may also experience. My joy comes from these experiences and sharing them with you.

From 2010 to 2013, I served as a Coordinator for the Asheville region of Carolinas Nature Photographers Association.  I now remain an active member leading field trips when time permits.

My photographic work has been exhibited in many galleries throughout Western North Carolina, including The North Carolina Arboretum, The Deerpark at Biltmore Estate, Asheville Art Museum at Pack Place, The Azalea, Gallery 86 in Waynesville, Cradle of Forestry in Brevard, Black Mountain Center for the Arts, The Green Sage, and Woolworth Walk. I was a photographer-artist for a sponsored chair at the 2014 "The Little Town That Rocks" in Black Mountain, North Carolina. The Laurel of Asheville featured my "Coneflower and Bee" image for its advertisement in the June 2014 issue.

As a nature photographer, I "naturally" enjoy environmental portrait photography, using natural light for portraiture, and capturing special events with an outdoor theme (reunions, weddings, intimate gatherings, etc.).  I would be pleased to share my private portfolio of events and portraits with you, as examples of my work, if you would like to consider hiring me for your special occasion. Please contact me, and we can discuss a mutual arrangement of services and prices.

I hope you enjoy viewing my galleries. Thanks for visiting.
